Frequently asked questions.

How can I get one of your knives?

My books are temporarily open for custom orders. Items for sale (not commissioned pieces) will be listed on the “Available Work” page as well as on Facebook and Instagram.

When will your books open for custom orders?

I’ll make a public announcement with limited available open spots. Custom orders require a 30% deposit with no promised completion date.

Can I send you specific handle material?

Yes, but we will have to have a conversation about it beforehand with plenty of pictures from different angles. Not all materials are made equally. Just because something looks good doesn’t mean it will make good handle material. I’m very particular about how handles are made, as it is the relationship between you and the knife. We want it to be a long lasting relationship.

How do you ship your knives?

Typically knives are shipped in 2x10” boxes, packed tight and wrapped in plastic to prevent water condensation or damage during shipping. Depending on where you live, a signature requirement and extra insurance can be added at an additional cost.

Dragontail Forge is not responsible for items lost or stolen during shipment. I highly recommend getting extra insurance and requiring a signature for delivery.

I do (insert thing here) professionally. Can you sponsor me or give me free product?

Generally, no. You can ask, but there’s a 98% chance you’ll be rejected.
